Emo Emo Idi is the title of director Dr. Sailesh Kolanu's next. After handling three editions of the HIT franchise and before moving on to HIT 4, the filmmaker is making the rom-com.
Roshan Meka, who made his debut with Pelli SandaD, is the male lead. Abhay is his name in the film. Producer S Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments has roped in Kannappa fame Preity Mukundhan for the female lead's role.
The Title Glimpse of the movie was released today ahead of its production. We see Roshan engaged in a conversation with his onscreen mother, saying that girls these days are extremely manipulative in relationships. They allegedly take men for a ride in the name of situationships, benching and more. The conversation takes place in the backdrop of an upscale cafe owned by Apurva, the female lead. It's love at first sight for the male lead, who is being persuaded by his mother to find a match and get married. "Abhay & Apoorva will bring you more love! A kind of love that will soothe you in this chaos," the director wrote.
Touted to be a "heartwarming, laid-back and goofy entertainer that promises laughter, love and freshness", the film will have its songs set to tune by Hesham Abdul Wahab (Hi Nanna, Kushi fame). Cinematographer Vamsi Patchipulusu of Major and Evaru fame is on board. "With this film, we’re bringing a rom-com that feels fresh, fun, and deeply relatable! Breezy. Romantic. Feel-good," the makers stated.
To be also produced by Fortune Four Cinemas, the romantically titled movie is up for a theatrical release for Dussehra 2026. This will probably be the sixth or seven releases from producers S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya this year. Emo Emo Idi was announced today marking Valentine's Day.
