Kamal Haasan had a close shave with death at least twice

Back in 1986, during the shooting of a scene at the Athirappilly Falls in Kerala, Kamal Haasan was suspended by three harnesses for a sequence. In a terrifying moment, all three harnesses snapped simultaneously, sending him falling toward the ground. Everyone, including director K. Balachander, feared the fall would be fatal or leave him permanently paralyzed. Miraculously, he escaped with relatively minor injuries. It could have been a life-threatening catastrophe.

In 2016, the Indian 2 actor fell 18 feet when a floor collapsed in his Chennai office. The fall resulted in a severe leg fracture that he noted could have led to him "bleeding to death" if he hadn't been found quickly.

Kamal Haasan was seen in Mani Ratnam's Thug Life last year. He is currently producing a Rajinikanth-starrer. This year, he is expected to shoot elaborately for Kalki 2, directed by Nag Ashwin and headlined by Prabhas. The Vikram star is currently producing a Rajinikanth-starrer, to be directed by Cibi Chakravarthy.
