Ram Charan's Peddi is scheduled to hit the cinemas on April 30. The Buchi Babu Sana directorial is aiming for a more-than-decent release in the Hindi belt. Mythri Movie Makers, the secondary production house behind the Vriddhi Cinemas creation, has had a robust working relationship with T-Series. So, Peddi is expected to block a good number of theatres in the Hindi belt.
However, something could go wrong. Raja Shivaji (Hindi) is up for release on May 1. The historical film is directed by Riteish Deshmukh and is based on the life of Shivaji, the founder of the Maratha Empire. The director himself plays the title role, while Sanjay Dutt (recently seen in The Raja Saab), Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar (recently seen in Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu), Bhagyashree (seen as Prabhas' mother in Radhe Shyam), and Fardeen Khan have other important roles. The film will have a prominent release not just in Hindi but also in Marathi.
If Raja Shivaji's visual and emotional appeal stand out, Peddi will stand to lose big in Hindi. Ram Charan's previous release, Game Changer, was a washout in Hindi.
