The new narrative making the rounds is that Dhurandhar 2 (Hindi, but to be dubbed into Telugu) has the potential to dent the hype for Ustaad Bhagat Singh. As things stand, they are just a week apart. Ranveer Singh's movie will be a March 19th release. Pawan Kalyan's movie will be a March 26th release (unconfirmed but highly probable).
Dhurandhar 2 is apparently enjoying unreal hype, if the social media chatter is anything to go by. Its Telugu version is expected to register momentous openings.
In a way, the target audience for both Dhurandhar 2 and UBS are the same: those who love adrenaline on the celluloid. Pawan Kalyan's fans are the differentiator (Ranveer Singh has no fan base in the Telugu States), but the durability of fandoms is only so much these days. Also, UBS is a remake (no amount of euphemistic language can whitewash this fact). Harish Shankar is out of form. If these two facts are kept in mind, it's going to be a David vs. Goliath fight.
