The upcoming Telugu film Kokkoroko is scheduled for a 2026 release under the Neelladri Production banner. The project is coming from noted filmmaker Ramesh Varma, who has floated RV Film House for the movie. Directed by debutant Srinivas Vasanthala, the film is structured as a unique anthology featuring five distinct characters, all revolving around the culturally rooted theme of traditional rooster fights. Produced by Rekha Varma and Kurapati Sireesha, the film boasts a strong technical crew.
Among the film's highlights is the silver screen debut of Manaswini Balabommala. A special "Bangarraju Family" poster was unveiled today. The debutante is seen alongside Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Bheemla Nayak actor Samuthirakani and other cast members.
Manaswini comes with an artistic pedigree. A former student of Glendale Academy, she has a rich background in theatre, having tackled iconic lead roles such as Jo in Little Women and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing. Beyond her acting prowess, she is a trained performer in the classical dance form Perini Natyam and has a formal foundation in Carnatic music. With her extensive experience in stage performance and anchoring, Manaswini’s formal entry into Telugu cinema is interesting.
Kokkoroko will have dialogues written by GV Sagar, the brother of Rock Star Devi Sri Prasad. He has previously written Rakshasudu. Sankeerthan and Akash R Joshi will be taking care of the music and cinematography, respectively. Prawin Pudi of S/O Satyamurthy and Tuck Jagadish fame is the Editor.
