Tamil actor Suriya has reportedly stepped in to rescue producer K.E. Gnanavel Raja from a massive financial crisis. Industry sources reveal that Suriya personally intervened to help clear debts totaling nearly Rs 200 crore accumulated by Raja’s production house, Studio Green. To settle the mounting dues, the actor reportedly utilized his professional network and goodwill to secure a substantial loan, which was used to pay off approximately fifteen different creditors.
In 2024, Studio Green's Kanguva was made on a huge budget. The Suriya-starrer turned out to be a colossal disaster at the box office. After its failure, rumours flew thick and fast about Raja's alleged financial woes. While the quantum of his debts is not known to the world, it's evident that Kanguva left him with losses.
Earlier this week, Gnanavel Raja rubbished the gossip that he continues to be mired in debts. He clarified that he is not financially troubled. Singam, Siruthai, Thangalaan, and Karthi's latest film, Vaa Vaathiyaar, are among his major productions over the years.
