Anaganaga Oka Raju has satisfied our ego as a Sankranthi blockbuster: Naga Vamsi

With Anaganaga Oka Raju amassing about Rs 41 Cr in two days, the team behind the movie, on Friday, held a meet to thank the audience.

Speaking on the occasion, producer S Naga Vamsi said that this has been the most satisfying Sankranthi for his banner in six years. "Last year was good, too, but not every distributor was satisfied. Fanboys (not mine) have been supporting our movie on social media for the past 72 hours. We are going to give them a return gift in a few days. Although AOR is a mid-range movie, our distributors have supported us wholly. I thank them for reposing faith in us. I am egoistic about securing a Sankranthi hit. Although our banner has seen a couple of misfires previously, this year has been different. A Sankranthi hit is always special for producers, heroes and distributors. Year 2026 has begun on a great note. I thank Naveen Polishetty on this occasion. Writer Chinmayi has been very supportive; she is almost a director," Naga Vamsi said, adding that the film had the "stamp" of Trivikram Srinivas prior to its release. He admitted to being extremely nervous ahead of the movie's release, having seen a series of setbacks in 2025. "Seeing me, even my Babai (Radhakrishna S) was worried!"

In his speech, Naga Vamsi also thanked the PRO duo (L Venu Gopal and Vamsi Kaka) and the digital team at Sithara Entertainments.

Actor Naveen spoke of the confidence expressed by the Trivikram-Radhakrishna S duo in some specific episodes prior to the movie's release. "They told us those episodes will surely work. I thank them for their support. Those episodes are extremely hilarious to the audience. Every scene in the first half is evoking non-stop laughs. The political episodes in the second half, too, are being received in a very encouraging manner. My films are usually entertaining. In the case of AOR, the final moments were consciously designed to be emotional. I am a fan of Rajkumar Hirani and that's where these sensibilities emerged. Since this is my first Sankranthi, I was mighty nervous before the movie's release. Thankfully, our movie has grossed big-time already. This is my fourth blockbuster. When I was struggling to gain foothold in the industry, I was thirty for just one chance. Today, I have four hits in a row," the Jathi Ratnalu actor said.

While writing the movie, Naveen was going through a low phase after meeting with an accident. Chinmayi's writing contributions kept him going throughout.

Director Maari said, "Many film personalities congratulated us saying we delivered a great Sankranthi film. Those who haven’t watched Anaganaga Oka Raju yet, please book your tickets immediately."
