TUMBBAD 2, the Hindi-language horror-fantasy, will reportedly be made on a huge budget of Rs 150 Cr. Jayantilal Gada, who has previously distributed some of the biggest pan-Indian movies in the Hindi market, will be bankrolling the movie, which will commence its shoot early next year.
The Raja Saab, also a horror-fantasy (comedy is its sub-genre), has been made on a budget of Rs 400 Cr. Thus, although there is a difference of Rs 250 Cr between the two movies, Tumbbad 2 is still the second most expensive horror-fantasy in the history of Indian cinema.
Pen Studios, like People Media Factory down south, has been taking risks lately. Jayantilal Gada has distributed Rajamouli's RRR, Gangubai Kathiawadi, among other movies, in recent years. His company produces and distributes films in different languages. He began his journey in the media industry with a video library called Popular Video Cassette Company, which eventually grew into Pen India Limited.
