Recently, a Hindi-language web series named 'The Bads of Bollywood' made its debut on Netflix. In the show, actor Ranbir Kapoor was shown using banned e-cigarettes on screen without a warning or disclaimer. The National Human Rights Commission took note of it and shot a letter addressed to the Mumbai Police Commissioner, asking the police to register an FIR against the Animal actor.
In this regard, a debate has arisen if actors have become soft targets. While actors, like producers, writers and directors, are responsible for what they do on screen, in the present case, Ranbir Kapoor is being targeted for a mistake related to post-production. In the present case, the show's makers and Netflix are solely responsible.
Ranbir Kapoor is currently doing the Ramayana movies. The first part will be released in theatres for Diwali 2026.
