Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 4 (Hindi) was released in theatres this Friday. It opened at the Indian box office with a Buy 1 Get 1 offer on tickets. There are two opinions about whether the attractive offer helped or not.
As per Taran Adarsh, Baaghi 4 opened to a double-digit tally only because the BOGO offer boosted its appeal, encouraging young audience members to flock to theatres. "The film's performance now hinges on its Saturday and Sunday growth," he added, noting that the action thriller netted Rs 13.20 Cr on Day 1.
As per another trade analyst, the offer didn't help. "Baaghi 4 recorded the WEAKEST OPENING in the Baaghi franchise. Its previous part had also registered the lowest start back then," he said.
The numbers have to be seen in perspective. Without the BOGO offer, Baaghi 4 might have been a total washout at the box office. Also, the figure is pretty high if competition from The Conjuring: Last Rites, the American supernatural horror film directed by Michael Chaves, is accounted for.
