Bandi Saroj Kumar, who shot to fame with direct-to-YouTube releases Mangalyam and Nirbandham, has played the chief antagonist in Mowgli. The romantic action drama is headlined by Roshan Kanakala.
On Sunday, Saroj alleged that a "syndicate" is working against him. As per him, the comments section of Mowgli's recently-released glimpse on YouTube had as many as 400 comments praising him. And the digital team at People Media Factory, Saroj alleged, deleted all those comments!
He urged producer TG Vishwa Prasad to look into the matter and render him justice. Saying that he has poured his heart and soul into Mowgli, Saroj added that what he is getting back in return is unacceptable.
The use of the word 'syndicate' is bold. Is Saroj hinting at someone specifically? It's not difficult to see who will stand to lose when a film's antagonist hogs all the limelight. It's likely that he will be asked to stay away from promotions to avert controversies.
Mowgli is directed by Sandeep Raj of Colour Photo fame. The film's release date is yet to be finalized.
