The plot is thickening around the alleged motivated propaganda against Mithra Mandali. At the film's pre-release event on Monday, Bunny Vasu stated that there was a targeted campaign to besmirch the buddy comedy, due to be released in theatres this Thursday. Earlier, he had lodged a cyber complaint against unknown individuals who he believes have misused social media to put out negative comments against the film online.
On Tuesday evening, reports emerged that three individuals who were apprehended by the police had revealed some details. Apparently, 300 of the 400 negative comments under the trailer of Mithra Mandali on YouTube emerged from a single IP address. All these comments spammed the YouTube page within an hour of the trailer release.
The case might take an interesting turn if Bunny Vasu pursues it hard. Earlier, actor Manchu Vishnu doggedly pursued complaints against "paid" troll armies. It's not known what exact legal arguments were made against the culprits and how many of them have been convicted. When Kannappa was released in June this year, made-up comments against the movie were reportedly absent, although organic trolling was still present.
