Haq is Emraan Hashmi's latest Bollywood release. Coming as it does less than two months after the release of Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG, the courtroom drama film is important for Emraan.

The drama is inspired by the landmark Shah Bano case of the 1980s, focusing on one woman's fight for her rights and dignity after being subjected to triple talaq. Emraan Hashmi is praised for his restrained and nuanced performance, playing a sophisticatedly flawed and self-entitled character. Yami Gautam Dhar is being hailed for a career-best performance, delivering a portrayal of quiet dignity, courage, and resilience.
