Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly of Premam fame has been involved in controversies recently, primarily related to legal and financial matters. This week, a case was registered against Nivin Pauly and director Abrid Shine for alleged financial fraud and criminal breach of trust.
Nivin Pauly has stated that the dispute is already under court-directed arbitration since June 28, with a gag order in place. He claims a new case was registered "without respecting court directions and by concealing ongoing arbitration proceedings and manipulating facts" (as stated by a media report).
As per TNIE, PS Shamnas, co-producer of a film titled Mahaveeryar alleged that after the film failed commercially, Pauly promised to pay him Rs 95 lakh and offered him a partnership in his upcoming film Action Hero Biju 2.
In September 2024, a 40-year-old woman filed a police complaint against Nivin Pauly and five others, alleging sexual assault in a hotel room in Dubai after being promised a professional opportunity. In November 2024, Nivin Pauly received a clean chit from the police.
