Pawan Kalyan's 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' character channels NTR and MGR

If you want to know more about what went into designing Pawan Kalyan's character's characterization in Hari Hara Veera Mallu, you have to listen to director Jyothi Krisna. The design was inspired by two mighty thespians: Late NT Rama Rao and Late MG Ramachandran.

"Veera Mallu is a virtuous, strong, and people’s man in my film. MGR continued to act even after becoming Tamil Nadu's CM. He used the opportunity to convey sincere themes and a social message. I was inspired by this aspect and composed a powerful and thought-provoking song named ‘Maata Vinali’," the director says. Sung by Power Star himself, the MM Keeravani composition has a folksy aspect. The director suggests that the inspiring song earnestly stays true to Pawan Kalyan's real-life activism. The songs in the movie, for that matter, are crucial to its grand narrative. A power-packed song will be out soon.

The director then moves to NTR, who "admirably portrayed Lord Rama with a bow and arrow that represented his power and ability to uphold dharma". A bow and arrow were designed for Pawan's character. Since HHVM is a period film, the idea fitted perfectly. "These weapons symbolize the actor-politician's power and readiness to fight for justice and uphold dharma,” the director says. The term 'Dharma' has been used repeatedly in connection with the Mughal era movie.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu stars Pawan Kalyan in the lead. Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, and others have key roles. The action spectacle, which features the hero in a cosmic-historical role, is a July 24th release.
