Mahavatar Narsimha, arguably India's biggest animation film ever in terms of box office success, has turned out to be a huge surprise. It has already grossed about Rs 100 Cr.
Not many know that Hombale Films did not produce Mahavatar Narsimha. The film was produced by Kleem Productions. Hombale Films' involvement is as the film's "presenter" and distributor. They acquired the theatrical, satellite, and OTT rights, and have been a major force behind the film's marketing and distribution, including its success at the BO.
While Hombale Films did not produce the movie, their backing and brand recognition have been a significant factor in the film's success and its reach to a wider audience. They have also announced that Mahavatar Narsimha is the first installment in a larger Mahavatar Cinematic Universe that they are presenting, in collaboration with Kleem Productions.
For the upcoming installments of the MCU movies, the vision and risk appetite of Hombale Films will be of maximum relevance. For now, though, the makers of KGF, Salaar and Kantara can't be given the entire credit.
