Gigantic philanthropic efforts are rare to come by. At least three Hollywood celebrities are known for pouring in millions of dollars into humanitarian projects
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, as a couple and individually, have been involved in numerous large-scale humanitarian projects. Their Jolie-Pitt Foundation has donated millions to various causes, including disaster relief and conservation. Jolie, in particular, has been a long-time advocate for refugees and children's rights, and has funded health and education programs in countries like Cambodia and Ethiopia.
Recently, popular actor Christian Bale announced a $22 million project. As part of this, he will fund a village for foster kids in Palmdale, California. "The village, called Together California, will include 12 homes to house up to 70 children, as well as two studio apartments for transitional housing and a community center. The goal is to provide a stable, supportive environment for children who have experienced the trauma of being separated from their families and, often, their siblings," a New York Times report says.
