Actress Kasthuri Shankar today congratulated the team behind Baby for winning two awards at the 71st National Film Awards. Director Sai Rajesh received the Best Screenplay Award, and singer PVNS Rohit received the Best Male Playback Singer award from Hon'ble President of India Draupathi Murmu in New Delhi today.
In her social media post on X, Kasthuri Shankar called the 2023 blockbuster a game-changer. She also revealed that she had arguments with her teen daughter after watching it. "Congratulations to the Baby team. What a game-changer! Watched it with my teenage daughter and boy did we argue about 'Baby' for weeks thereafter!" she wrote. Baby co-starred Anand Deverakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya, and Viraj Ashwin. It had music by Vijai Bulganin.
Kasthuri Shankar, who acted in Telugu films such as Chilakkottudu and Nippu Ravva in the 1990s, has been outspoken about politics in Tamil Nadu. Aakasa Veedhilo, Don Seenu and the recent GodFather are among her other Telugu movies.
