A grand curtain-raiser event for the cultural extravaganza named Vijayawada Utsav was held on Sunday. The Utsav is jointly organized by the Society for Vibrant Vijayawada, Shreyas Media, and the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It will be held from September 22 to October 2. The purpose is to showcase Andhra Pradesh’s rich culture, traditions, art, and historical heritage.

Speaking at the event, actress Samyuktha recalled that she first visited Vijayawada before the release of Virupaksha. She prayed at the famous Kanaka Durgamma Temple, wishing for her movie's success. "My wish became true! Vijayawada is a beautiful city. I have travelled across states, and this city is always special. The One City-One Celebration theme of the Utsav has my best wishes. It coincides with the Navaratri festivities, which herald auspicious beginnings. We need the support of the public. I hope love will come in from all towns and cities. Fireworks, dances, processions and expos will be held as part of the Utsav. The AP government is prioritizing tourism and business. The world must see the culture of Vijayawada," Samyuktha said.

Actress Anupama Parameswaran said, "I am glad to be here in Vijayawada today." The Karthikeya 2 actress wished for the success of her upcoming movie, Kishkindhapuri. Actor Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas described his upcoming movie as an edge-of-the-seat thriller. He thanked Anil Sunkara and others for supporting them.

Actress Manasa Varanasi greeted the people of the city. "The Utsav is being planned so beautifully. I whole-heartedly wish for its success. I am excited that I will be one of the performers. I hope we all have Durgamma's blessings. Dance, music, arts and other forms of culture will be on display during the 9-day Utsav," she added.

MP Kesineni Sivanath, commonly known as Kesineni Chinni, said, "Vijaywada is a vibrant city known for entrepreneurial spirit. This city has produced several job creators across sectors. Many of them have been in Hyderabad, the US and other places. Because they are migrants, nobody sees them as Vijayawada people. Those achievers will be brought together for the Utsav. The entire country will be witness to the festivities."

Jana Sena Party State general secretary Ammisetty Vasu thanked CM Chandrababu Naidu and DCM Pawan Kalyan for organizing the event. He added that Vijayawada has been peaceful under the new regime. He praised Kesineni on the occasion.

MLA Tangirala Soumya thanked the Tourism Ministry, among others, for coming up with the "blockbuster" festivities. "This will be a historic event," she added.

The event was also attended by Kandula Durgesh, Satyakumar Yadav, Sujana Chowdary, Gadde Ramamohan, Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao, Vasantha Krishna Prasad, Sriram Rajagopal, Kolikapudi Srinivas, along with Swachh Andhra Corporation Chairman Pattabhi and many others.
