Contradictory reports have emerged on the marital discord in the life of Bollywood actor Govinda, who was one of the highest-paid Hindi actors in the 1990s. National media reports have stated that his wife Sunita Ahuja has accused him of adultery, cruelty, and desertion. On these grounds, she wants her 38-year-long marriage with him dissolved by the court.
Less than a day after these reports emerged, on Saturday, NDTV quoted Govinda's lawyer as claiming that the couple had almost sorted out their differences. As per the lawyer, Govinda and Sunita have been attending "court-mandated counselling sessions" for the past few months.
Govinda and Sunita have reportedly been living separately for many years. A section of the media has also indicated that Govinda has been in a relationship with a 30-year-old Marathi actress.
