Bollywood actor Boman Irani will be seen as a hypnotist in The Raja Saab. Almost all his scenes unfold in the backdrop of a library, where voluminous Psychiatry-related books are stacked up.
It's Irani's character, with a screen-time of 15 minutes, that changes the tone of the horror-comedy. "From the beginning, I conceived his character as someone who acts as a catalyst for switching the genre," Maruthi says.
The director is well aware of Irani's body of work, particularly the memorable Virus from Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots. "The audience will surely be captivated by his arresting performance. He will transport the viewer into a different mood altogether," Maruthi adds.
The Raja Saab, headlined by Prabhas, co-stars Sanjay Dutt and Zarina Wahab in key roles. Nidhhi Agerwal will feature in three songs, while Riddhi Kumar and Malavika Mohanan also have prominent parts. The film will debut in theatres on the evening of January 8.
