Pitting Hrithik Roshan against Jr NTR in War 2 was not a mean feat. Since the two actors are major names in their respective cinema industries, director Ayan Mukerji felt that the face-off must be nothing less than epic.
The Bollywood filmmaker sees directing the sequel as a thrilling chance to honour the original while making his mark. The original was released in 2019 and it became a blockbuster.
Before embarking on War 2, the director knew the responsibility of evolving a beloved franchise was extraordinary. His goal was to create something new that would leave the audience eagerly anticipating future installments.
"I ventured into the franchise with the aim of magnifying the theatrical experience for the audience. The maximum time spent was on the action set pieces and crafting the storyline and the conflict which was needed to mount the face off between the two stars," Ayan ponders. He further describes the film as a celebration of Indian cinema due to the unprecedented pairing of Hrithik Roshan and the Devara superstar. He acknowledges the high expectations surrounding their collaboration, adding that the team focused on delivering an unforgettable movie-watching delight.
War 2 is scheduled to hit the cinemas on August 14 in Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil.
