'After Dhurandhar, spy films will never be soft towards Pakistan'

Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar is being seen as a trend-setter in a way. Many are of the opinion that, if the movie grosses Rs 500 Cr and continues to spark debates for months even after its OTT release, the content of Indian spy films involving Pakistan will forever see a radical shift. Many Bollywood movies have been soft towards Pakistan. After Dhurandhar, production houses/filmmakers will see this softness as unfashionable.

"Yash Raj Films, Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma Productions and others from the small band of liars distorted all reality, showed total fabrications when they projected Pakistani spies as partners / allies / friends of Indian agents. These cretins did a grave disservice to India’s armed forces and intelligence agents who take on mortal risks to keep India safe. Many of them did so because they have debts to pay to these Pakistani funding networks, which used them for propaganda and in turn, they built up their film careers," wrote Rajeev Mantri, an author.

Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), Raazi (2018) and Pathaan (2023) are among movies that are deemed to be problematic in their narrow understanding of the India-Pak tensions.
