Pontiff Sri Sri Sri Sugunendra Swamiji of Puttige Sri Krishna Matha in Udupi has conferred the title "Abhinava Krishna Devaraya" upon Pawan Kalyan. The title was conferred on Sunday at the Bruhath Geethotsava program organized under the Matha's auspices.
On the occasion, the pontiff lauded the actor-politician. The OG actor used the opportunity to drive home his message on cow protection. "People spend so much on movies and entertainment. We must also focus on protecting our Gomata. Personally, I am protecting 60 cows and running a goshala. Take responsibility for safeguarding the sacred Gomata we worship. Action must be taken against illegal cow slaughter. At the same time, we must protect our cows. Only when all people participate will such practices stop," he said. Pawan Kalyan further said that the Geethotsava was a "sacred gathering" that reminds us of those who "sacrificed their lives to preserve our spiritual heritage through Jagadguru Madhvacharya's eternal legacy".
On the film front, Pawan Kalyan awaits the release of Ustaad Bhagat Singh in Summer 2026.
