‘On the Road,’ touted as India’s first-of-its-kind road-trip thriller, is all set to hit screens across both Telugu states on October 10. The film is unique for being shot entirely amidst the stunning, rugged valleys of Ladakh.
The thriller tells the story of an emotionally disturbed ex-boyfriend who arrives unannounced at his ex-girlfriend’s secluded road trip. In the trailer, we see the female lead making out with her current partner inside a vehicle. Terror strikes with the entry of the armed enfant terrible.
It's interesting that the nail-biting scenes are set to a melodious flute tune in the trailer.
Ladakh’s stunning landscapes and the screenplay will heighten the emotional experience for the audience, director Surya Lakkoju, who has a history of collaborating with Ram Gopal Varma on multiple projects, says.
‘On the Road’ is produced by Surya Lakkoju and Rajesh Sharma under the banner of SPL Pictures, and the team is now in the final phase of preparations for its release.
The cast features talented actors Karn Shastri, Swati Mehra, Raghav T, and Ravi Singh. The creative and technical crew includes Surya Lakkoju as the writer and director, with production handled by Surya Lakkoju and Rajesh Sharma. Gifty Mehra is credited as the Director of Photography (DOP), while Srinivas Kommanapali penned the dialogues. Mandar Sawant served as the editor, and the music for the thriller was jointly composed by Naveen Kumar and Surbhit Manocha.
