The first seven months of 2025 have proven to be a difficult period for the Telugu film industry in the North American market, a report by Venky Box Office says. According to its data, out of 40 films released, a staggering 25 have been categorized as "disasters," recovering 50% or less of their investment. This marks a colossal downturn, as only seven films managed to be profitable or break even, while three were considered average with minor losses. The remaining five were outright flops, with recoveries of 75% or less.
Two of them, Sankranthiki Vasthunam and Daaku Maharaaj, were Sankranthi releases. Court, Mad Square, Single and HIT 3 were Summer releases. Kuberaa is the seventh overseas hit.
