Here is why nobody is liking Drishyam director Jeethu Joseph's Mirage

Mirage, directed by Jeethu Joseph, is the title of his latest Mollywood release. A crime thriller film starring Aparna Balamurali and Asif Ali, Mirage has been critically panned, justifying its box office failure.

Film critics primarily lashed out at Jeethu Joseph's Mirage on the grounds that it was an overstuffed, illogical thriller that prioritized twists for the sake of twists over cohesive storytelling and emotional depth. The film was criticized for having an overwhelming number of twists and turns, many of which felt random, predictable, or unnecessary, and were simply tacked on to stretch the runtime. Critics felt the twists were not organically developed or properly foreshadowed, leading to a sense of exhaustion rather than excitement.

Reviewers found the screenplay, co-written by Joseph, to be "wafer-thin," "messy," and lacking subtlety. The narrative was seen as a patchwork of twists with too little believable drama or character groundwork in between.

Mirage is currently streaming on SonyLIV. Jeethu Joseph will next direct Drishyam 3.
