Director Kranthi Madhav of Onamalu and Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju fame is wielding the megaphone for a new-age love story. This one will be his fifth outing as a filmmaker. Chaitanya Rao Madadi (recently seen in the web series Mayasabha), Ira, and Sakhee (a Bengali TV actress making her Tollywood debut) will be headlining the movie.
Speaking at the movie's launch today, Kranthi Madhav thanked producer Purna Naidu for always standing by him. When his previous movie turned out to be a box office disappointment, it was Purna who promised to back his next movie. Srikanth V is the other producer of the untitled project.
For producer Purna Naidu, collaborating with Kranthi has been a long-time wish. Saying that he has always admired Kranthi's narrational style, he adds that Srikanth has been a long-time collaborator.
Since it is a love story, it will be shot in beautiful locations. Besides the scenic backdrop, the project will benefit from a bigger scale. Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju, starring Sharwanand, is among Chaitanya's all-time favourites. And he is therefore all the more elated to be teaming up with Kranthi Madhav. Incidentally, this is not the only film he is doing under Kranthi's direction. There is another one. Both these movies, which are yet to be entitled, will be released in theatres in 2026. For the actor, who shot to fame with the YouTube series 30 Weds 21, this is a crucial project after Anushka Shetty's Ghaati (which had him in a negative role).
Actress Ira is a Bengaluru-based artist who was thrilled upon receiving a call from Kranthi. "Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju is one film I have watched over twenty times," she says. Language is not an issue for her, because they speak Telugu at home.
With music composed by Phani Kalyan, the film has cinematography by Gnana Shekar VS. Production Design is by Chinna. Sreeyas Chitra and Purna Naidu Productions are producing this one. Kranthi Madhav is also the movie's story and screenplay writer. The launch event was graced by Deva Katta, senior producer KL Damodar Prasad and others.
