Speaking at Wednesday's OG event at a star hotel in Hyderabad, Pawan Kalyan stated that the gangster action drama was a special experience for all of the team. He began by saying it is rare for a film to not only become a hit and collect big numbers but also to "turn into a true celebration." He felt fortunate that OG had become such a film. He expressed his gratitude to the entire team, specifically thanking Sujeeth for bringing him the story, Thaman for "breathing life into it," and Ravi K Chandran for his photography. He also named Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and DVV Danayya, along with "everyone who made this film what it is." He explained that while "writing a story is easy, but bringing it to life on screen is very tough as it requires everyone from the director to the lightman to work as one." He affirmed that this synergy was what happened with OG.
In a surprising confession, he admitted that he didn't even know the full story of OG. He said he had only gone to meet Sujeeth when Trivikram Srinivas mentioned the director's name. Sujeeth's pitch was simple: "You will be holding a sword in Japanese attire, with guns, as you are a gangster." The actor-politician revealed that he didn't quite understand the story initially, but when "I saw my son Akira Nandan reading the papers Sujeeth gave me and enjoying them, I realized this was a story this generation connects to."
Pawan Kalyan mentioned that he sometimes sees himself in Sujeeth, noting that often "we cannot express what we want to say, but we can show it through our work." Because of this, he had "promised him we will definitely make a sequel or a prequel to OG".
The Deputy CM of AP acknowledged how discouraging a flop can be but shared that OG had given him "the strength to want to do films again." He wants to continue the OG universe with the time he has.
He highlighted Thaman's music, which he said took him "back to my Thammudu days." Finally, upon seeing Arjun Das, he said he felt deeply and wished, "I wish I had such a voice."
The most interesting part of his speech came when he talked about his interest in doing OG's prequel and sequel, subject to certain "conditions", which he didn't spell out. Obviously, Pawan Kalyan meant that his official work shouldn't come in the way. OG, released in theatres on September 25th, is a huge hit in North America.
In his speech, Dil Raju spoke of the immense craze Pawan Kalyan enjoys, thanking Sujeeth for writing a script like OG. He has known the adoration Kalyan has enjoyed since Tholi Prema in the late 1990s.
Actress Priyanka Mohan said, "I will forever remember Telugu audiences for this. My gratitude to Sujeeth garu for giving me such a special role. No matter how many films I do in the future, Kanmani will always remain close to my heart."
Music director Thaman said that OG is nothing short of a miracle. He jumped in joy when Kalyan announced that he was interested in acting in OG's next editions.
In his speech, producer DVV Danayya noted the hard work put in by the entire team. He thanked Pawan Kalyan for working hard with dedication on OG.
