SKN Clarifies Multiplex Economics: Only 17% of your Multiplex bill reaches the producer

Producer SKN of Baby fame has tried to correct the notion that film producers are the ones who benefit the most from expensive movie-watching in multiplexes. The customer subconsciously believes that the money spent on Foods & Beverages is pocketed by the producer although it's obviously untrue.

In a social media post, SKN wrote that only 17% of the entire spend (ticket plus snacks) by a viewer at a multiplex goes to the producer. "From a multiplex ticket, the producer doesn't get even 40%, which is only his income from a family spend in a theater. On the other hand, the Multiplex gets to make money from F&B, Ads and its share in the ticket price," SKN wrote.

SKN is currently producing Chennai Love Story (Kiran Abbavaram, Sri Gouri Priya) and the Hindi remake of Baby. He is also bankrolling Aha's 3 Roses Season 2 on Mass Movie Makers. It will start streaming from December 12.
