In October last year, Telangana Forest Minister Konda Surekha made allegations against BRS working president KTR. She claimed that KTR was responsible for the separation of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, accusing him of playing with their lives and introducing them to drugs. Surekha said, "KTR has no respect for women. He has a history of exploiting and manipulating actresses, leading to their early marriages and exits from the film industry. He is involved in drug use and throws parties where he blackmails women after getting their calls tapped."
Following the allegations, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya pursued a defamation suit against Surekha. Today, she issued an apology for her remarks. "I would wish to clarify that the statement I had made in relation to Nagarjuna Garu was not intended to hurt him or his family members. I had no intention of hurting or defaming him or his family members. I regret any unintended impression given in my statements in relation to them and withdraw the same," she wrote.
