A Masterpiece, a superhero movie directed by Poorvaj, has entered the last leg of its production. Currently, its climax sequence is being shot. On Monday, the makers hosted the cine media on their movie's grand sets.

Manish Gilada, one of the producers of the event movie, is playing a supervillain. Speaking to the media on Monday, Poorvaj attributed the film's materialization to Srikanth Kandregula, another producer. Manish backing the film elevated it to the next level, he added.

The director shared certain insights into the film. A Masterpiece's central themes are inspired by Hindu scriptures and mythological tales. "The story connects different eras – in Treta Yuga, Sumantara, the minister of King Dasharatha, receives a boon during Lord Rama’s exile, which becomes the base for the superhero character. The supervillain, inspired by Hiranyakashipu, comes from Dwapara Yuga. These mythological elements are connected to Kaliyuga in a fresh narrative," the director said.

Jyothi Poorvaj is playing the protagonist, while Arvind Krishna has another lead role. Incidentally, Poorvaj and Jyothi fell in love with each other after the project came into being more than two years ago. Jyothi's multi-shaded character will engage the audience while being intriguing. She added that Poorvaj is crafting a film of grandeur. "Arvind Krishna perfectly fits the superhero image. Manish Gilada’s supervillain act will be another highlight," she added.

The film's shoot has been delayed due to setbacks like Arvind Krishna sustaining injuries. Poorvaj never budged from his commitment. "Our film will surely raise the stature of Telugu cinema," the actor said.

A song is currently being filmed as part of the climax shoot. "The post-production will be of the highest quality. I am glad to be playing the supervillain of the saga. The scale of the movie is grand," Manish said.

The film is admittedly inspired by the example set by Minnal Murali (Malayalam), which was made as a content-driven superhero movie and went on to be seen as a big-screen spectacle.

Producer Srikanth said that he has been more of a sleeping partner. "We are using technology that even Hollywood hasn’t experimented with yet," he stated. Prajay Kamat is another of the producers.

Jagadeesh Bommisetty and Shivarama Charan are the directors of photography. Poorvaj, Manoj B, and Shiva Sharvani are the editors. Suman Jeevaratnam and Aashirvaad are taking care of the background score. Raj Kumar Gangaputhra is the stunt master.

A Masterpiece will hit the cinemas for Maha Shivaratri.
