The title poster of Prabhas' movie with Hanu Raghavapudi is out. "The bravest tale of a soldier from the hidden chapters of our history," the Sita Ramam director stated, giving a glimpse into the nature of his male protagonist in this multi-lingual release. Set to be released in 2026, this one will grace the silver screens in all major southern Indian languages, Hindi, and Bengali.
While the story is set in British India (and, rumouredly, Prabhas' character is inspired by a colonial-era spy who was a quintuple agent and helped Subhas Chandra Bose at one point of time), Hanu seems to have fictionalized the story by adding mythological references. Prabhas' character is ascribed the status of a warrior by destiny. His heroism is not due to a specific victory (like Arjuna), a change of allegiance (like the hypothetical Karṇa who sides with the Pandavas), or a lack of formal training (like Ekalavya). His warrior status is innate, predetermined, and existential.
Mythri Movie Makers is bankrolling Fauzi, in which Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada, and Bhanu Chandar have prominent roles. Imanvi is paired opposite Prabhas. Sudeep Chatterjee and Vishal Chandrasekhar are the cinematographer and musician, respectively.
