Bollywood director Siddharth Anand on Sunday created quite a flutter on social media when he wrote that Shah Rukh Khan is beyond tags like "Superstar". "When stars go beyond being “just a superstar” they are called the King," he wrote. This was a not-so-veiled dig at director Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently describing Prabhas as "India's biggest superstar".
The X post just blew up and expectedly so. The fans of SRK on the one hand and those of Prabhas on the other indulged in fan wars over it. Some of them were smart retorts. Raymond wrote, "Khans are supposed to be megastars. But if you are getting offended because someone called someone the biggest superstar, then you still consider yourself a superstar."
Be that as it may, Siddharth Anand was supposed to make a film with Prabhas as the hero. The project was in the works for more than a year before it got shelved. Apparently, Prabhas was not willing to work with Anand. A theory is that Anand has been unhappy since then and was waiting for an opportunity to take a veiled dig at Prabhas. 2026 will belong to Prabhas if The Raja Saab and Fauzi become blockbusters. SRK's fans are really in for a ride; they may have developed rivalry with Prabhas' fan base at the wrong juncture.
