Little Hearts is about college life, coaching grind, teen love: Bunny Vasu, Vamsi Nandipati

Little Hearts will open in theatres on September 4th evening with paid premieres in the Telugu States. The film's full-fledged release will be on September 5th on 170 screens. In this interview, distributors Bunny Vasu and Vamsi Nandipati reflect on the merits of the Mouli Tanuj-starring teen rom-com that they say is about college life, exams, coaching grind, and love, more than anything else.

Bunny Vasu says:

It was Vamsi Nandipati who first spoke to me about Little Hearts. At that time, I was not aware of the cast and crew. When I watched it for the first time, I saw potential in it. Although most of the lead men and women are not cinema artists, the film's potential is high. There hasn't been a fun-filled youthful entertainer lately. The audience will love to watch Little Hearts.

Little Hearts' merits are many, among them being it is vulgarity-free. The family audience will like to watch it. The film is about the joy of falling in love (as a teen). It's less about the typical family-styled drama. Akhil (Mouli), the male protagonist, is cheery.

Kathyaayani Nannu Love Cheyi is one song I expect to attain virality and get meme-fied. The 16–20 age group will particularly love the film.

90s Middle-Class Biopic (the web series on ETV Win that catapulted producer Aditya Hasan and Mouli to popularity) had a school backdrop. Little Hearts has its lead artists (Mouli and Shivani Nagaram) playing college-goers. They study for an entrance exam.

It is keeping in mind the film's commercial potential that we advanced the release date to September 5th. The 12th is not suitable, considering other releases. Later on, OG's release later this month makes the 5th as the best available option.

The OTT game has changed everything. A few years ago, Little Hearts would be taking great openings. Now, though, the going will be a little slow because it has no star cast. By matinee and evening shows on Day One, Little Hearts will pick pace all over.

OTT platforms expect a movie to be released on at least 90 screens to be considered for streaming. In Hindi and Malayalam, they have a eight-week window before a movie streams on OTT. We don't have that norm as yet.

Vamsi Nandipati says:

When I and Bunny Vasu watched the movie, we knew it had the potential to be watched in theatres. We provided some suggestions to the team. By the time we watched the rushes, about eighty percent of the production was completed.

Little Hearts is a sweet trip down memory lane. 90s Middle-Class Biopic took us back to our school days, and AIR (another ETV Win original) brought us to college. Now, Little Hearts will capture the moment a boy confesses his love to a girl after college and all the effort he puts in to win her heart.

The tastes of the audience are changing at a fast clip. They are not the same two years ago, when I distributed Maa Oori Polimera 2.
