The romantic comedy, Bun Butter Jam, has dropped its hilarious Telugu teaser. The film, which is set to hit theaters in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on August 8, promises quirky fun.
Written and directed by Raghav Midarth, Bun Butter Jam is billed as a blend of humor, emotion, and the comical clash of generations. The story centers on two mothers, played by the talented Saranya Ponvannan and Devadarshini, who are determined to get their children married. Their well-intentioned plans, however, quickly descend into chaos as their Gen Z kids—portrayed by Raju Jeyamohan, Aadya Prasad, and Bhavya Trikha—find themselves entangled in a web of modern-day romantic dilemmas, personal confusions, and complicated friendships. The film explores these characters as they navigate the complexities of love and family in today's world.
The supporting cast, featuring Michael Thangathurai and VJ Pappu, adds to the film's comedic charm. CH Satish Kumar of Sree Vigneshwara Entertainments is handling the release in the Telugu states, ensuring the film reaches a wide audience. Produced by Suresh Subramanian under the banner of Rain of Arrows Entertainment, the film boasts a stellar technical team, with music by Nivas K Prasanna and cinematography by Babu Kumar.
The film's Tamil version has garnered positive reactions from critics and audiences alike, who lauded its fresh take on romantic comedy and the stellar performances of the cast. "In recent times, Tamil cinema has seen a wave of films targeting the youth, following templates seen in movies like Love Today, Dragon, and Oho Enthan Baby. Bun Butter Jam also fits this mould, catering specifically to the younger generation," Cinema Express wrote in its review. "The film departs from its comic space and has a more matured and focused idea in the second half," Only Kollywood added.
