Today, on July 12, the Movie Artists Association (MAA) carried out an online auction through Maastars.com in a programme held at Hyderabad on the Axe (Rudraksha) used by Balakrishna in his latest hit ‘Simha’. The money raised from this event will be used for its charity proceeds. Along with MAA president Murali Mohan, Balakrishna, director Boyapati Srinu, Tapasee, Benerjee, AVS and others participated.
Balakrishna who began the auction said, “To raise money for a good cause it’s always good idea to bid on items used in films instead of keeping it aside. This custom is practiced in Hollywood for quite long time. We heard that the response was very high on the silent action of the gloves and costumes used by Michael Jackson. With the same inspiration we organized this auction event. This event will strengthen the MAA to raise money for helping the poor artists. Acknowledging this auction event a person by name Venkat Garikapati from USA bid is price as Rs 5 lakhs. Film lovers and those who desire to do something for the good cause of the society can participate in this event.”
Murali Mohan requested the government not to privatize the lands offered to the Teluguf film industry for its development. He said, “35 acres of land located in between Padmalaya and Ramanaidu studios has been given to the Telugu film industry. But now we learnt that 10 acres of that land is in the process of lending it to private sectors. It is inappropriate to do so. So I request the government to take serious action against it.”
