Producer Aditya Hasan describes Little Hearts as an experiential film. Starring Mouli Tanuj in the lead, the September 5th release seems to be a blend of observational as well as Gen Z comedy.
In this interview a week ahead of the movie's release, Aditya says that the content of his maiden production venture will resonate with the audience. He suggests that, in terms of authenticity, the film is as rooted and native as a true-blue Malayalam movie.
Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati are backing Little Hearts. They plan to release the movie in theatres on September 5 on 200 screens. A day before (September 4), paid premieres will be held in the Telugu States. On September 3, three free-of-cost shows will be held for Intermediate students (the protagonists are Intermediate students in the film).
Excerpts from Aditya's interview:
Little Hearts is an eminently relatable story. It's not about what the audience aspire for, but about what they have experienced. At many times while watching the movie, they will be reminded of their own personal experiences.
Young love has its own level of maturity. Little Hearts brings that out without twists and serious moments. It's a fun-filled teen romance. It affords the audience their mental peace. It's a light-hearted story, something what I believe treatments should be about. There is no message involved. The film is purely for time pass. Everything from the dialogue to the music is without cinematic frills. They are natural.
Just like Baahubali, our audiences watched 90s Middle Class Biopic (Aditya's claim to fame, streaming on ETV Win) with their families. Even NRIs living in the US and other countries did so. Little Hearts, too, is in a similar mold.
The film is writer-director Sai Marthand's product. The treatment and all is by him. I merely played the role of a producer. Comparisons with my web series might occur, but it won't matter.
We plan to release Little Hearts' longer version on OTT after the theatrical run. I gave my insights during the editing stage of Little Hearts. (The producer hinted that the theatrical version is crisper compared to the OTT version).
Excerpts from the interview of Sai Krishna, the film's other producer:
Family entertainers that the viewer can relate to always make for joyous watch. 90s Middle Class Biopic, in a way, broke out of the archetypes about what kind of web series click with the viewer. Little Hearts will make its point in its own right - in the feature film segment. Mouli's love story with the heroine has a series of heartwarming touches.
ETV Win will bring out half a dozen theatrical releases in the coming years. Little Hearts was always visualized as a theatrical release. In the post-pandemic era, content-driven works have received a boost from the audience.
